With hundreds of hours invested in continuing education and advanced skills in cosmetic dentistry, smile design, and dental implants, Dr. Angus approaches every case as a partnership. Are veneers permanent?
Yes — placing porcelain veneers involves removing a small amount of tooth enamel to create a proper bond,which means the process is not reversible. That’s exactly why we offer the Smile Test Drive first. The American Dental Association also recommends addressing any existing dental issues (like decay or gum disease) before veneer placement, which Dr. Angus will assess during your consultation.
How long do veneers last?
With proper care — brushing twice daily, flossing, and keeping up with regular cleanings —porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or more. Avoiding habits like biting nails,chewing ice, or opening packages with your teeth will help them stay beautiful longer.
Does insurance cover veneers?
Dental veneers are generally considered a cosmetic procedure and are not covered by most insurance plans. Our team will walk you through flexible financing options so cost is never the reason you wait any longer for the smile you deserve.
What if I grind my teeth?
Patients who clench or grind (bruxism) may not be the best candidates for traditional veneers, as the force can chip or crack them. Dr. Angus will discuss this during your consultation and explore alternatives if needed.
How many veneers will I need?
That depends entirely on your goals. Some patients need only one or two veneers to address a specific concern. Others prefer 6–10 veneers for a full smile transformation. Dr. Angus will recommend what achieves the most natural, balanced result for your unique face and aligns with your goals.
What exactly is the Smile Test Drive?
The Smile Test Drive gives you beautifully crafted temporary trial veneers to wear for a day or two before any permanent work is done. You get to experience your new smile in real life — at work, at dinner, in photos. We only move to permanent placement when you’re completely in love with what you see.
